Recycling Plant St. Joseph, MO

Our Recycling Depot is located in St. Joseph, MO. Our plant is a community-based recycling center that receives truckload quantities and deliveries of post-consumer grade paper, plastic, and metals. We also schedule pick up services for “less than truckloads of recyclable items in town.

We process loose material at the depot for local vendors within a 180-mile radius of St. Joseph.  The depot is open for deliveries 7:00 am-3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Shipping and receiving trailers must check in no later than 2:30 p.m. CST. It is not a drop off center for individuals. The city of St. Joseph has such a drop off center for residential recycling. Birch Recycling works with local haulers and executes special projects for manufacturing plants that have overruns and discontinued products. These are services that no other depot facility can provide.

Contact Plant Manager Jay Baxter for questions.

An example of a depot service we provided

A cable fiber company in the Kansas City metropolitan area had 100,000 boxes they had buried in Kansas City metropolitan areas that were found to be defective in some way. Those boxes were unearthed and brought to Birch Recycling where they were processed and sold.  (We still have a little leftover dirt in our facility!) Another example is a company in Lenexa that had a discontinued item to recycle.  Birch Recycling executed 50 truckloads for this Lenexa company to get it all the items to our depot. Office and warehouse clean-outs are another specialty project we execute. Obsolete inventory is another important project we take care of. For example, a company may store boxes or paper items they no longer need or have discontinued. Birch Recycling does the bailing and removes the items from their property, saving them time and money.

We love office paper!

Birch works with paper shredding companies to recycle their shredded paper if they lack the processing equipment t do it onsite. We not only recycle shredded paper but we broker shredded paper as well. We love office paper and magazines. And we really love cardboard!

The plant recycles many specialty items that cannot be brokered or done in truckload quantities. That is one of its main functions.

Birch Recycling is here for the long run. We have the foresight and have positioned the company to haul it and store it. We  operate in a fluctuating market and don’t leave our customers to fend for themselves. We take care of our customers and our customers take care of us.
